The Secundus Miniature Tonneau models came in versions of rolled gold (20 microns) finish case as well as in 9 caret and 18 caret solid gold cases. All came with a 10 year quality guarantee.
The watch case itself was West End patented everbright steel (still in use today on WEWCo. models).
The mechanical movement and the dial in themselves are a marvel given their miniature size. The movement inside is a FHF80 which went into producrion in 1930 and was a 16 ruby jewel movement. This movement produced by Fabrique d’Horlogerie de Fontainemelon is one to appreciate given its dimensions at 12.8 mm x 19.6 mm and a height of 3.8mm. It has a swiss lever escapement with a balance wheel and has a manual stem winding system.
It has a power reserve of 30 hours and a frequency of 18,000 vph and had a rectangular oval shape to it which complemented the tonneau case shape. Features that are seldom seen even with modern day mechanical watch makers and technology.
This particular timepiece and its movement are still ticking and maintaining time a 100 years on.
