KEEPSAKE

The Keepsake model was produced and retailed in the 1920's and was a superior model at the time. It featured as a typical 11" keyless level wrist watch with a guarantee of 1 to 2 years offered on the model. It possessed a superior (high grade) keyless lever movement (15 jewel) with a compensation balance wheel and hairspring. The casing was dust and damp proof and the watch boasted to be a excellent and reliable timekeeper under the most trying conditions.

The Keepsake model was made available at the time in nickel silver (Rs 38); Sterling Silver (Rs 43); Rolled Gold (Rs 45); 9-ct Gold (Rs65); 14-ct Gold (Rs 77); 18-ct Gold (Rs 90)

Blued (Radium) Hands were available at an extra Rs 5. The radium treatment in this day and age is replaced by heat treated blue hands which prevents rusting.

To put this pricing into perspective, 10 grams (1 tola) of 24-ct gold at the time was Rs 18.

Below are photos of the model still circulating in the re-sale market along with a reference to original West End Watch Co catalogue from the 1920's. The rolled gold model is a piece from the 1920's. The nickel silver piece is from the 1940's.
